Pontianak

Home to the longest river in Kalimantan and Indonesia, Kapuas River, Pontianak is also the only city in Indonesia that sits right on the equatorial line. In Pontianak you can see the Equator Monument for this significant geographic distinction, the State Museum to get to know about the West Kalimantan Sultanate, its cultures and tribes, and the sunset at one of the bridges overlooking the Kapuas River in downtown Pontianak, where shops, clubs and cafes, restaurants and hotels are also located.
