Located in the middle of East Java, Jombang has a strategic position making it easily accessible from many other cities. The city has natural tourism, cultural tourism, and religious tourism. The town is often dubbed the city of santri (moslem student) because of the large boarding school students (pesantren). It also has some centers of handicrafts and batik production.
